DESCRIPTION: APW - Hamilton, "C.H. Case & Co, Hartford, Conn." marked mvt and dial, Grade 972, 17J, 16S, 14K gold OF original Dubois case with additional marking for retailer Hayden W. Wheeler, "Arthur Guy Hinkley from Alice Dec. 25. 1901" engraved inside rear, gold cuvette with superb applied photo emulsion of a young woman (presumably Alice), white enamel SS dial, SW-SS, nickel damascene, s#64127. Gross weight of assembled watch 70.1 dwt (109.2 g). An elegant piece with a superbly preserved photo emulsion to its cuvette. Arthur Guy Hinkley was born September 22nd, 1876, married Alice Mary Hills on May 24th, 1899. Arthur Guy Hinkley was manager of the Connecticut branch of the Aetna Life Insurance Company.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some marring to balance jewel setting and surrounding area, some marring around right side train bridge screw, small marring tight around stem detent screw, few spots of oxide to winding wheels and regulator spring; excellent dial with some fine scratches within seconds-register; excellent hands; case shows little wear, few small nicks, no dents or dings, excellent overall engine turning detail though with some reduction at rear shoulder, photo emulsion to cuvette is superb with only some micro-fine scratches; tight bow, crown shows light wear with small ridge break; good glass crystal.
